The American Foundation for the University of British Columbia was created to develop public awareness of UBC in the United States and to encourage financial support for the University and its programs that the foundation deems of significance and interest to the American people.
The Foundation is a registered public charity (IRC Section 501(c)(3)) under US law and was established as a corporation in the District of Columbia under the Non-Profit Corporation Act.
Making A Gift
Donations to the American Foundation for UBC may be made via check payable (from a US bank only) to the American Foundation for The University of British Columbia. Donations can be sent to the Foundation’s mailing address per below. A letter of acknowledgment will be issued by the Foundation, as appropriate, for the gift. Please note the foundation is unable to receive donations by credit card.
In most cases, American UBC alumni and family of alumni, and in many cases most donor advised funds, can make donations to UBC directly. (US-Canada Tax Treaty Article 21 Section 6). To make a gift directly to UBC, please visit give.ubc.ca.
Donors should always consult their own financial and tax advisors about appropriateness and validity of charitable contribution tax deductions in their jurisdiction.
